Battle Ropes: how to do it and form tips

A dynamic conditioning exercise using heavy ropes to perform waves, slams, or circles that challenge muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and shoulder stability together.

Form tips

  1. Hinge at the hips slightly and bend your knees into an athletic stance for a stable base.
  2. Generate power from your whole body — legs, hips, and arms working together produces bigger waves.
  3. Alternate between 20–30 second maximal-effort intervals and equal rest periods for conditioning.
