Jump Rope: how to do it and form tips

A full-body conditioning exercise that builds cardiovascular endurance, calf strength, and coordination simultaneously. Even 10 minutes of jump rope delivers significant aerobic and muscular stimulus.

Form tips

  1. Jump on the balls of your feet, not flat-footed — keep hops small, just enough clearance for the rope.
  2. Keep your elbows close to your sides and rotate the rope from your wrists, not your whole arms.
  3. Master basic two-foot hops before progressing to alternating feet or double-unders.
