Reverse Hyperextension: how to do it and form tips

Performed on a reverse hyper machine or bench, this exercise extends the legs backward to target the glutes and lower back through a unique swinging arc.

Form tips

  1. Lie prone on the machine with hips at the edge and legs hanging free.
  2. Swing your legs up by squeezing your glutes and lower back.
  3. Control the descent — the pendulum swing provides traction for the lower back.
