Single-Leg Machine Leg Curl: how to do it and form tips

A unilateral hamstring curl on the leg curl machine that isolates each leg independently, revealing and correcting strength imbalances between the left and right hamstrings.

Form tips

  1. Lock the pad on one leg only and keep the non-working leg relaxed and out of the way.
  2. Complete all reps on one side before switching — don't alternate; alternating reduces isolation.
  3. Compare your clean reps on each side; a greater than 10% difference indicates an imbalance worth addressing.
