Smith Machine Calf Raise: how to do it and form tips
A standing calf raise performed inside the Smith machine, usually with the balls of the feet on a plate or step. Lets you load calves heavier than free weights allow.
Form tips
Place the balls of your feet on a small plate or step so your heels can drop below level.
Drive all the way up onto your toes and pause at the top contraction.
Lower slowly for a deep calf stretch — the eccentric drives growth.
