Snatch-Grip Deadlift: how to do it and form tips

A deadlift performed with an extra-wide snatch grip that increases the range of motion and places greater demands on the upper back and hamstrings.

Form tips

  1. Take a grip about twice shoulder width — the bar should touch your hip crease when standing.
  2. Due to the wider grip, your hips will start lower than a conventional deadlift.
  3. Brace hard — the longer moment arm makes spinal stability more challenging.
